thankful

Tonight I am thankful for a night out with my sweet baby boy.  I hate it when Duane has his MBA class and can't spend the evening with us, but I'm thankful for a hardworking husband that does so much so that I can stay home and spend my time with Kason.

I'm thankful for Kason's sweet smile.

I'm thankful for his curiosity..even if it means he asks "what's that?" 1,239 times a day. :)

I'm thankful for a healthy boy, that loves to get dirty.

I'm thankful for Kason's love for water, any type of water.

I'm thankful for his tantrums, even though they make me crazy.  I'm thankful that he is healthy enough to throw tantrums, many parents long for a baby healthy enough to show so much emotion.

I'm thankful for the days where simple things like throwing rocks into the creek can keep Kason busy for hours.

I'm thankful for a calm, summer evening and a gorgeous sunset.

I'm thankful for clean, fresh little boys.

I'm thankful for bedtime stories.

Most of all, I'm thankful that God chose me to be Kason's momma.  To love him and guide him.  I don't know why he felt it necessary to bless me so much, but I'm so glad that he did.

a day with my boy

Today is one of those days that I'm so thankful I'm home with my boy.  I try not to take it for granted, so I remember to thank God for this opportunity daily.  Believe it or not, I do miss those crazy 6th graders A LOT, but I'm at peace with me decision to be at home.

Today Kason and I had a Mommy-Kason date day.  We went to his second gymnastics class, which he loves!  It is so fun to see him bounce on the trampoline, and show off his somersaults.  He is getting better about waiting his turn, but I'm glad the class is helping him learn patience.

After gymnastics, we headed to one of Kason's favorite places - Barnes and Noble.  This boy won't sit still for any amount of time, but give him some trains and a track and he plays for hours.  Ok, maybe not hours..but longer than 10 minutes! :)

To finish up the day, we went to the park.  Another one of Kason's favorite places of all time!

state fair

I love the fair.  Like really, really love it.  I think this love stems from my high schcool cheerleading days.  We cheered at about every county fair within a 50 mile radius.  That means we went to about 2 fairs a week for the month of July.  Lots of competitions and lots of funnel cakes.  Side note - I miss being able to eat 2 funnel cakes a week and not notice it in my hips.  Anyways, I'm pretty sure that's where it all started.  For me, summer = the fair.  Simple as that! :)

We went to our county fair twice, which was probably two times too many for Duane, but I loved it.  This weekend the state fair started and we were there on opening night.  We went with two families that have little guys that are Kason's age.  You've seen them lots on this blog and it's a fact that when we all go somewhere together the outing will involve lots of chasing kids and lots of laughing.  Kason and the boys loved the fair.  They loved the food and even got to ride a few rides.  These are the things that I couldn't wait to be able to experience with my children.  To see the wonder in Kason's eyes when he looks down from above on the bee ride is something that makes me smile from ear to ear.  I know that these are memories that Kason will have forever.

Here are some pictures from our trip!
